As President and CEO of Vesta Corporation, Arthur draws upon his 40 years of industry experience. Arthur’s creative vision fuels his passion for developing high quality affordable housing that will create an environment for residents to achieve their goals. Arthur’s strength is his innovative vision and creative use of complex financial tools to solve development challenges. New business development is Arthur’s passion, for which his ability to incorporate the conflicting interests of various stakeholders is uniquely suited. Arthur was the first general counsel of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (“CHFA”) for which he helped create the Uninsured Multifamily Mortgage Program, and was responsible for devising creative workouts for troubled projects. Prior to his CHFA tenure, Arthur specialized in real estate law with a Hartford law firm. Arthur has a J.D. from the University of Connecticut, School of Law and a B.S. from American International College.

Lewis joined Vesta in 2005, and since that time developed an expertise in deal identification, feasibility analysis, development planning and implementation, and construction oversight. Currently, he is focused on growing Vesta’s portfolio with responsibilities that include identifying new opportunities, negotiating with sellers, and securing various sources of capital. Before joining Vesta, Lewis worked as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston, focusing on litigation and transactional issues related to real estate, contracts, and construction. Earlier in his career, he was an associate attorney at the Boston law firm of Atwood & Cherny. Lewis graduated summa cum laude from Suffolk University Law School and with honors from the University of Michigan

Candice began working with Vesta in 2013, and in 2015 assumed a role on the senior leadership team. Candice joined the Acquisition and Development division as a project manager, and presently works on an array of Development projects. Candice has extensive public sector and non-profit experience, including as Executive Director of Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, a non-profit providing legal services related to housing, consumer protection, home mortgage foreclosure, predatory lending, and immigration to low-income clients. Earlier, Candice worked as a staff attorney at Legal Aid of Marin and as an attorney with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She earned her undergraduate degree from Tufts University and her JD from the University of Michigan Law School.

Aaron joined Vesta as Counsel in 2017. Prior to his tenure, Aaron practiced at a major Connecticut law firm representing lenders and borrowers, including Vesta, in various commercial transactions, including acquisition and construction financing, bond and tax credit transactions, and traditional mortgage financing. Aaron utilizes his diverse legal background in all aspects of Vesta’s business. He advises Vesta on contract formation, operation and interpretation, and oversees other legal matters, including providing guidance on the legal effects of purchases, sales, refinances, capital transactions, and dispositions of Vesta’s various properties and partnership interests. Aaron graduated cum laude from Tufts University and has a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Director of Acquisitions & Development | VCard
Steve joined Vesta in 2013. His responsibilities include preparing analysis and financial models to analyze feasibility of potential deals, conducting due diligence, researching qualifications and application processes for various finance programs including: LIHTC, and various state and federal funding programs, and preparing documents required for equity and loan processing. Steve was previously an Acquisitions Analyst with Corridor Ventures focusing on multifamily investments. Steve holds B.S. degrees in Finance and Business Management from Arizona State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Acquisitions & Development Manager | VCard
Roger Canales joined Vesta in 2018 as Acquisitions & Development Manager, primarily focusing on the Texas market. Roger brings over 30 years of experience in both the conventional and affordable housing industries. For the past 15 years, Roger served as Director of Development for Prospera Housing Community Services (Housing and Community Services, Inc.). Roger previously served as HUD’s Section 8 Contract Administrator for Texas, Southwest Housing Compliance Corporation, in the Compliance and IT departments, and has worked on the development of affordable property management software with IPM-Software. Roger’s passion for affordable housing is aligned with his community service commitment. Roger spent served as a member of the AmeriCorps Foundation, assisting high school drop-outs receive their GED, adults improve their literacy, and teaching English to immigrants seeking citizenship status. Roger received his Economic Development Finance Professional Certification from the National Development Council. He is also a licensed Commercial Drone Pilot.
Construction Manager | VCard
Sara joined Vesta in 2018 as Construction Manager. She is responsible for the management of all construction and large-scale property rehabilitation. Sara is integral in maintaining relationships and communication with onsite general contractors, architects and local governing agencies. Her work entails oversight of each project from pre-construction design and estimation, through onsite construction and resident relocation, to completion and re-occupation. Sara’s background includes project management in residential home development and construction in Austin, Texas for David Weekley Homes and as an Engineer Officer in the US Army working on large scale infrastructure projects while stationed in Germany and Kosovo. Sara earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Michigan where she was an ROTC designee.
Senior Transaction Analyst | VCard
Ally joined Vesta in 2016. Her responsibilities include conducting due diligence and analyzing the feasibility of potential acquisitions, and assisting with application processes for numerous finance programs including LIHTC and various state and federal funding programs. Ally is involved in each stage of a deal; including initial underwriting, to submitting an LOI, to closing on an acquisition. Ally previously worked with UBS Realty Investors in their Client Services department. Ally holds a B.S. degree in Real Estate and Urban Economics from the University of Connecticut.
Development Analyst | VCard
Colleen joined Vesta in 2017. She is involved with conducting due diligence and feasibility analysis for potential acquisitions and redevelopment projects, preparing documents and managing the application processes for a variety of finance sources including LIHTC, state and federal funding programs. Colleen began her career as a real estate asset manager for The Hartford Insurance Group, overseeing the management and sales of portfolios of Class A office properties, land, and Spanish retail properties. Colleen is an avid community volunteer. Over the years, she has been active in a wide variety of educational, spiritual and civic outreach programs, as well as helping to raise over $10 million for local charities. Colleen earned her B.S. in Real Estate Finance, magna cum laude, and M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
